Terms of Service

1. What Ethos is

Ethos ("the Service") is a software tool that crawls websites you connect, builds a brand profile from their content, and generates written content (pages, blog posts, meta descriptions) using artificial intelligence. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and your API keys. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Connecting websites

You may only connect websites that you own or that you are authorized to crawl and represent. By connecting a site you confirm you have the right to let us fetch, store, and process its public content for the purpose of providing the Service.

4. AI-generated content

  • Content is generated by AI models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccurate statements. You must review content before publishing it.
  • You are solely responsible for content you publish, including its factual accuracy and its compliance with applicable law and advertising rules.
  • As between you and Ethos, you own the content generated for your connected sites. We claim no copyright over your generated output.
  • We do not guarantee search rankings, AI-engine citations, traffic, or any particular commercial outcome.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • crawl or impersonate websites you have no rights to;
  • generate unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, or infringing content;
  • produce spam at a scale or in a manner intended to manipulate search engines in violation of their policies;
  • resell the Service or circumvent usage limits or security measures.

6. Third-party services

The Service is built on third-party providers, including Anthropic (content generation), Voyage AI (text embeddings), Supabase (database, authentication, hosting of your data), and Vercel (application hosting). Their availability affects ours; we are not liable for their outages.

7. Fees

The Service is currently offered free of charge during its beta period. We may introduce paid plans; if we do, pricing will be shown before you are charged and these Terms will be updated.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; deleting a brand profile removes its crawled pages, embeddings, and generated content. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these Terms with reasonable notice where practicable.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or €50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia and applicable European Union law; disputes are subject to the courts of Latvia, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
